Hi friend,
Kratom safety and transparency are always top of mind for us here at Super Speciosa, but it's important now more than ever.
If you're a fan of kratom and follow it in the news, you've probably heard of 7-OH, too. 7-OH is an alkaloid found in trace amounts in natural kratom, but in products where it's artificially synthesized, it can have an effect similar to opioids, and it hasn't been proven to be safe.
We don't and will never sell 7-OH products. Dr. Christopher McCurdy, who has been a leader in the efforts to research kratom safety, was recently interviewed on the Huberman Podcast explaining his research into 7-OH, as well as 7-OH's risks.
However, kratom, pure and simple, continues to be studied and found safe. Our Signature Reserve Kratom Capsules were recently used as the kratom samples in a groundbreaking new study showing no serious adverse events when participants consumed 5x the recommended amount of kratom. Last year, our kratom was used by top scientists in a study conducted by the FDA around kratom's safety, which had similar findings, with no adverse events.
The result of this is that the national conversation around kratom is shifting, and we're seeing it play out legally: Florida, for example, is taking action on 7-OH, and the FDA is announcing an intent to differentiate kratom from synthetic 7-OH products. Regulations like this are a good thing, because they differentiate the truly dangerous players — and are very different from previous efforts we've seen to ban kratom in general, without any distinctions. Regulations mean safer, more effective products for you and less risk. Ultimately, it's a win for people who love kratom and a step forward towards a more trustworthy industry.
Warmly,
Ken
