What is “GMP”?

Howdy folks,

 

Randy here, hustling and bustling at the Super Speciosa warehouse, getting ready to close out the year. I wanted to take a break from packing orders to explain one of the most important procedures that takes place in our facilities. I see our production guys working day in and day out making sure our kratom is safe for y'all, and we wouldn't be able to make it happen without a special process called "GMP".

 

GMP, or "Good Manufacturing Practice" was created by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to ensure the dietary supplement industry provided good quality products. It doesn't necessarily tell businesses how to operate, but it does give us clear guidelines to ensure products are high-quality and safe, eliminating risks of contamination.

 

Why do we care about this? There's not a ton of oversight on the kratom industry, from its harvesting in Indonesia to "garage" vendors in the USA. It can be untested and improperly labeled, leading to negative effects for the people who buy it. 

Trusted vendors who do have GMP quality systems can ensure the safety of their kratom. Here at Super Speciosa, we go above and beyond voluntarily participating in GMP: we have also been qualified by the American Kratom Association's GMP Standards Program, which requires participants to qualify suppliers, document standard operating procedures, implement testing procedures, have proper labeling on our products, and more. And, not only do we offer third-party laboratory testing, but we also publish the results of every small batch on our site. 

 

There's nothing more important to us than making sure your kratom is as clean and safe as possible, and we take this stuff really seriously. It's also something we want you to know about, so you can continue to make great choices about your kratom.
