Hey Team Super,
It's Randy here, at the Super Speciosa warehouse. Over here, as we're developing new products and fulfilling orders, we talk a lot about different strains, veins, and colors.
So I wanted to hop over here and explain what those terms mean and how we use them here at Super Speciosa.
Here's the truth: all the kratom in the USA comes from Indonesia, where harvesting and quality control practices vary widely. It's pretty much impossible (and untrue) that genetic "strains" of kratom are being cultivated for specific properties.
You've probably heard of red, green, white, and yellow vein kratom. These are called this not because they have different kratom leaf vein colors, but because of what color the kratom looks like when it's dried: when kratom leaf is dried in the sun, it turns darker than leaves dried in the shade.
We grade our kratom based on its color, with the darkest being red, and the lightest being green. The drying process can affect how much mitragynine and other alkaloids are present in kratom.
Red vein: These leaves may have higher alkaloid levels, contributing to their calming effects.
White: White kratom's alkaloid profile is known for energy and mood-boosting effects.
Green: With moderate mitragynine levels, green kratom balances energy and relaxation.
If you want to know how your kratom will affect you, you have to read the lab tests. The alkaloid quantity and makeup of each batch of kratom can vary significantly — and that's what's most likely to make kratom feel stronger or weaker.
That's why we test and categorize our kratom this way — based on the science, which is always available to you on our website & packaging:
Our Bali, Thai, Borneo, and Malay kratom: 1.0%+ MIT
Maeng Da kratom: 1.4%+ MIT
Signature Reserve kratom: 1.5%+ MIT
Special Batches: These are individual batches that we've thoroughly lab-tested and found have a particular profile. Sometimes, these are lower in mitragynine and higher in other alkaloids.
Most of the time, our Special Batches have exceptionally high naturally occurring mitragynine, like our recent launches, Hulk and Volt.
If you have a favorite kind of kratom, it's most likely due to the range of mitragynine in the product, rather than its color or name.
The cool thing is that we make our lab tests readily available on our product pages and packaging, so if you find one you love, you can check it out and look for the same range again.
Take it easy,
Randy
